Hey guys!
I'm Dana, and I'm a senior at Michigan State U. I've got to say I really loved and was encouraged by what has been written so far, so I'm excited to learn from everyone and do this! A little about me...I'm a dietetics major, and I truly love what I learn and thank God for giving me direction in this area of my life, I'm still not sure what exactly is going to happen with it, but I do know that I've got a passion for nutrition and how it affects our bodies and lives. I feel like I continually am learning how intricately our bodies have been designed, more than I think we'll ever grasp. Other than that, I love chocolate, laughing, and that feeling when you really connect & relate with someone.
I've grown up mostly in Michigan, and have been so very blessed to have great parents that raised me to know that Jesus Christ loved me and that I could really know him. I went through a few years in high school of pushing him away and doing my own thing before I really realized how much I need him to guide my life, and how fulfulling it is to trust and love him more.
This past summer I went on a summer project to the little county of Slovenia (tucked between Italy and Croatia) where we spent our time talking with students and people there about their faith, and in turn sharing ours. God totally worked in my heart in desiring to make his name known. I also really learned firsthand how he can use us despite our mistakes and shortcomings. Our team there included about fifteen students from Macedonia, who were amazing, hilarious, and really opened our eyes to how vital the Gospel is.
I've seen a shift in the focus of ministry here at MSU over the past month or so. Girls in the Bible study I led last year are excited to share their faith, instead of being comfortable and coming to study for theirselves, they want to reach out and extend God's love to others. They've got willing hearts, which is so exciting to see.
As far as Bible verses go, I'm in love with the Psalms, as of now Psalm 37...
Trust in the Lord and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Delight yourself in the Lord
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
